ESSENTIAL OILS FOR MAGICK: Carrier Oil

Magickal Properties of Carrier Oil

I believe the proper place to start, even before we get into the individual oils, is with the carrier oils that you will be blending them with. What’s this you say? The Carrier Oils have magickal properties as well. Never heard of it! I know right?! I was just as excited to hear of this as you probably are. Heck, I don’t know how you feel but for me, ANY LITTLE THING that can add a boost to my spellwork or rituals is always welcome. What’s even better is that most of these oils cover many, diverse areas so you won’t have to go to the expense of buying them all.  The book Mixing Essential Oils for Magic: Aromatic Alchemy for Personal Blends by Sandra Kynes, from which I draw the bulk of the information included in this post, lists information for 17 different carrier oils. For some reason she left Coconut Oil off her list. I however did a little research myself and decided to add it in because I use that particular oil A LOT in my blends and wanted to know what its properties were so figured I would also share my findings with you all. So I will be sharing 18 different carrier oils with you this week!

To be completely honest, I never realized how important choosing the right carrier oil for my Magickal Oil could be. I’m really excited to have learned as much as I have while sharing this information with you all. I made a list of oils I absolutely NEED to get and another for those that I would like to add to my collection as well…lol! I truly hope you found this as eye-opening, interesting and informative as I have!

I know there are other carrier oils just like Coconut Oil that Sandra Kynes didn’t include in her book and I’m sure she had her reasons. I know that I didn’t find much of any “Magickal” property/correspondence information on it other than what I provided above but she did include quite a few I never would have thought of. I did run across an article on Mythology & Folklore concerning Cocos Nucifera – the Coconut Palm. You can check it out here: INDIA: On the Coconut palm

I look forward to sharing with you again next week!
